Alton Towers Resort have today announced that a brand-new Bluey junior coaster will be coming to CBeebies Land in Spring 2026!

The new junior coaster is noted to be the world’s first Bluey-themed rollercoaster, bringing to life the popular kids show in a whole new way. The series follows the adventures of Bluey, a loveable blue heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and little sister, Bingo. Alton Towers have said that more details will be unveiled in due course, with only an initial piece of artwork being released today to accompany the announcement – this shows the Heeler family outside the entrance to CBeebies Land, with the green track and yellow supports of the new Bluey junior coaster in the background.

Sabrina de Carvalho, Senior Vice President at Merlin Entertainments said:

“I’m excited to finally announce our new Bluey coaster in CBeebies Land at Alton Towers Resort – the first Bluey coaster in the world.”

“We can’t wait to welcome Bluey fans and young families from all over the world to the resort.

“We’re keeping the exact details and launch date under wraps for now but Bluey’s limitless energy is sure to be reflected in our new junior coaster.”

Natasha Spence, Events Director, Live Entertainment at BBC Studios, said:

“Loveable and inexhaustible Bluey has captured the hearts of children and adults alike all over the world and we are excited that our much-loved brand is getting its first-ever rollercoaster at Alton Towers Resort.

“Alongside the resort’s bespoke Bluey-themed hotel rooms, we can’t wait to see fans enjoy the new attraction.”

Today’s announcement confirms the rumours that have been circulating since the Resort first revealed last December that a planning application had been submitted for a new junior coaster in CBeebies Land, then referred to as Project Sunshine and described as being “perfect for our youngest thrill-seekers and their families to enjoy together”. This followed the arrival of Bluey and Bingo, as well as their parents Chilli and Bandit, at the Resort earlier in the 2024 season in the form of meet and greets within CBeebies Land as well as new Bluey rooms and suites in the CBeebies Land Hotel.

Discussions with the Staffordshire Moorlands District Council’s Arboricultural Officer, following the submission of the original plans for Project Sunshine, resulted in revised plans being submitted in April 2025 in order to reduce the number of lost trees.

The Bluey junior coaster will replace Postman Pat Parcel Post, which closed in June and has already been fully removed as part of preparing the site for the new ride. To accommodate the new coaster, Get Set Go Treetop Adventure also temporarily closed earlier in the summer in order for its track to be rerouted, resulting in a shortening of the layout.
