Alton Towers Resort have been celebrating the arrival of summer, with pop groups including McFly today, after the massive Alton Towers Live concert took place.

With tickets initially priced around £55, it was believed that sales were steady for the family event, but there’s no doubt that a great time was had by all who attended. Hot on the bill were JLS and McFly but they were backed up by a range of artists including The Saturdays, Eliza Doolittle and Charlotte O’Connor. A massive stage was set up on the lawns, and guests were able to take their places for the event which began at 4.30pm – after theme park rides closed.

Towers will now be hoping for similar success when they present a major concert by the Black Eyed Peas, early next month. Tickets for the gig can be purchased at
