The theme park has closed its doors once more as the final part of the 2008/9 closed season gets underway.

Since 14th February, the theme park has been open every day from 10am until 4pm with a preview of attractions for the whole family to enjoy. Queue’s during the event have been manageable, with a maximum of around 45 minutes reported for the likes of Air, Spinball Whizzer and Squirrel Nutty at any one time.

The theme park may now be closed once more, but the resort hotels, water park, spa and golf remain open and rooms are available from £55.00 if booked online for selected dates.

Alton Towers will throw open their gates for the full 2009 season from Saturday, 28th March when Sharkbait Reef by Sea Life, Cloud Cuckoo Land, the revitalised Skyride system, Explorers Pizza/Pasta buffet, refurbished Meltdown restaurant and all new entertainment will burst into life. It’ll also be the first chance this year to ride some of Alton Towers’ classic rides and attractions as the likes of Nemesis, Congo River Rapids and of course, Mutiny Bay, re-open.

We look forward to the countdown to the full season and of course bringing you any news along the way!
