Once again, the resort held a range of different events throughout the season, providing guests with an alternative way to experience the Alton Towers magic. Throughout the year the park was chocolafied, transformed into a beach and turned into a Winter Wonderland!

Chocolate Towers

During the 2006 Easter period, Alton Towers Resort became chocoholic heaven, with a chocolate volcano erupting at the bottom of Towers Street.

Draw-A-Toon

Over the Summer the television channel, Cartoon Network, put on live shows around the resort featuring their popular cartoon characters.

Great British Bucket & Spade

In 2006, all the fun of the seaside arrived as the park became home to Staffordshire’s first and only beach, complete with deck chairs.

Gaydar: Gaydays

Alton Towers opened its gates for one of the longest periods in its history, when Gay profile site, Gaydar, semi-hired out the park for the day.

Electric Towers

Although the display was shortened to a 3 day event in 2006, the show was set to a new story of an electrical storm taking place above The Towers themselves.

Winter Wonderland

With the departure of the resort’s ‘Winter Weekends’, guests could have a short break over the Winter period and enjoy the Waterpark and Spa.

Festive Fun

Alton Towers provided guests with a range of festive packages, allowing them to experience the hotels’ facilities and even meet Santa in his grotto.
