The resort’s Fireworks event returned in 2006, albeit shortened to just three nights instead of the previous five in order to comply with a court noise reduction order. This event moved away from the ride storylines and was instead themed around an electrical storm which took place above the Towers themselves.

The plot lead to the Towers being blown up by lightning in front of thousands of spectators and was accomplished with the use of specialist lighting equipment which included lasers, spot lights and of course fireworks.

There was also a large inflatable projection sphere at the heart of the display to immerse the viewer in brand new special effects. It was appropriately dubbed the ‘StratoSphere’ by the manufacturer.

The three firework nights were held on 27th, 28th, and 29th October, all of which were very busy.
