Alton Towers owners, Tussauds, are being taken to court over noise pollution. The couple, Stephen and Suzanne Roper are complaining that noise levels being emitted from the park is breaking the “1990 Environmental Protection Act”. If the couple win, who knows what could happen – will the offending rollercoasters be removed?

UPDATE, August 4th 2004 – Alton Towers have lost their battle against Stephen and Suzanne Roper in the courts! The judge found that one of the worst offending rides was Oblivion, that causes people to scream as it hangs them over the edge of its drop. Alton Towers are now in discussion as to what measures must be taken to limit noise being emitted from the park.
