Alton Towers Resort has today announced changes to the Early Ride Time, which allows qualifying guests access to designated attractions an hour early, for a limited period, between 25th July to 1st August.

Starting Friday, the Early Ride Time offering will switch from the current line-up of attractions across the park to focus on just two areas: Cbeebies Land and X-Sector. This latest change means the new line-up will consist of:

CBeebies Land

•Postman Pat’s Parcel Post
•In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride
•Mr Bloom’s Allotment
•Get Set Go Tree Top Adventure
•Something Special Sensory Garden
•Justin’s House Pie-O-Matic Factory
•Nina’s Science Lab
•Charlie & Lola’s Moonsquirters and Greendrops
•The Numtums Number-Go-Round
•Tree Fu Tom Training Camp
•Big Fun Show Time
•CBeebies Photo Studio

X-Sector

•The Smiler
•Oblivion
•Enterprise

The move means that the selection of rides available for ERT is now confined to one side of the park, instead of being spread across the resort as it has been throughout the current season. It is also the first occasion that The Smiler has been a part of the Early Ride Time opening since its opening in May 2013. Although the reasons for this change are currently unknown, the nature of the ride selection would suggest the resort is attempting to balance the offering for both thrill-seekers and younger guests.

It is not the first time the resort has made changes to the ERT line up part way through the season. In July 2013, Th13teen and Hex were removed from the original line up for that season, whilst prior to this, Oblivion was removed to allow for construction of The Smiler.

It is not known at this time if this new arrangement will be a permanent change, or if the resort plans to return to the original line-up at the end of this trial period.
