Something Special Sensory Garden Announced for Cbeebies Land

2017-02-26T15:48:01+00:00 January 4th, 2014|

Alton Towers have today started to reveal the characters which will feature in the new CBeebies land when it opens on 24th May this year. These characters are the first major details of the new area to be released by Alton Towers, giving us some idea of what shape the new family area will take. Also being announced over the coming weeks are the attractions set to feature.

The characters announced are set to be amongst some of the most popular on the CBeebies channel, the first of which confirmed is Justin Fletcher’s creation, Mr. Tumble, who stars in CBeebies show Something Special, a programme which encourages children to explore the world around them. Visitors to CBeebies Land will be able to explore the ‘Something Special Sensory Garden’, following the Tumble Trail and look inside Mr. Tumble’s spotty bag. The area, like the TV show, features the use of Makaton sign language, something which is designed to help children in the early stages of language development, suggesting the park is aiming to make the new area as inclusive as possible. Further characters are set to be announced over the course of the coming weeks.

The resort is aiming to “create experiences that inspire children with bright ideas, provide hands-on learning experiences, and put a smile on the face of everyone who visits.” By opening the new area on 24th May, the first day of the Whitsun half term, the resort is sure to attract many families keen to experience this latest addition to the park.
