After closing at the end of the 2008 season, the iconic double inversions of Alton Towers’ original inverting roller coaster, Corkscrew, were retained and installed in 2010 on the entrance plaza as a monument to this classic ride. A purple and gold colour scheme was chosen to match the aesthetic of the nearby monorail and entrance buildings. In 2026, the structure was repainted in yellow and green, the original colours seen on the ride.
