Although there was no need for Alton Towers Resort to submit a planning application for The Alton Towers Dungeon, there were still significant changes made to the facade of the former Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The Ride show building. The below concepts by Jonathan Ward show a highly detailed facade which looks far superior to the scaled back version of the final product. Some of the interior concepts do match what we know today, but also feature scenes which were cut.
Concept drawings of the costumes for the attraction’s inhabitants were also released as part of the special ‘Meet the Maker’ event held on 12th March 2019 to which TowersTimes was invited.
