At the end of November 2014, Alton Towers Resort submitted a planning application seeking permission for the addition of a high ropes course close to the resort’s accommodation, ready to open in May 2015. Construction took place in the first few months of 2015, with the course opening on schedule.

Construction of Tree Top Quest began with the erection of the main wooden columns that the obstacles for the high and low ropes course would be suspended between.

More of the main wooden support columns had been added, as well as the concrete foundations for the Tree Top Quest reception building.

Some beams between the wooden support columns had been put in place, ready for the addition of the obstacles. Elsewhere on-site the reception building was starting to take shape and the foundation for the central tower had also been laid.

With just over two weeks until opening, the majority of the course’s obstacles were now in place, with finishing touches being added around the site as well as to the central tower and reception building.
