Alton Towers have submitted a planning application for the construction of a new enclosed walkthrough attraction building in X-Sector, located on the former sites of Enterprise and Submission. Although planning documents note that the single-storey building will house “internal themed walk-through rooms and staff operational areas”, it remains to be seen whether this will be for a year-round or seasonal attraction.

May 2026 – Plans Submitted
Alton Towers submitted plans for the construction of a new enclosed walkthrough attraction building in X-Sector, located on the former sites of Enterprise and Submission. The documents noted that the single-storey building will be 23.5m by 20.8m, with a maximum height of approximately 7m, and house “internal themed walk-through rooms and staff operational areas”. Although the elevations show a simple structural shell, this is said to be intentional as final decorative theming will be added by the resort’s creative team which will consist of “non-reflective, durable cladding” and “industrial-themed finishes suited to the X-Sector”. The attraction will reuse the existing 157m queue line of Enterprise, with a small portion of new queue line over the former Enterprise ride area leading guests up to the entrance to the building itself. More specific details regarding the building’s use are not given in the documents, so it remains to be seen whether it will be for a year-round or seasonal attraction, such as for the resort’s Scarefest event.
