Fantastic Fountains consisted of 500 jets of water being brightly lit to create colourful patterns that performed in time to music.
This show, which was performed every 20 minutes, was located in the Talbot Theatre on Talbot Street, which has since been used as a magic theatre and for various children’s shows.
The operator could choose which of the six 20 minute shows were shown, which meant it usually changed from visit to visit. The fountains did numerous things including some which spun and changed in height.
Fanatstic Fountains was replaced by The Magic Theatre, a show which initially starred Henry Hound, in 1993 with the area being rethemed to the Land of Make Believe.
