On 21st January 2017, TowersTimes visited Alton Towers Resort to take a look at what was going on during the theme park’s closed season. There were new markings for the crossings on the route between the Resort’s accommodation and the Rollercoaster Restaurant, alongside refurbishment works in the theme park entrance plaza. It also appeared that the Resort were in the process of adding a new evacuation platform to the Monorail. Finally, with Splash Landings Hotel closed until late May, guests visiting the Alton Towers Waterpark were redirected to an entrance via the Conference Centre.
