In the late 80s, Alton Towers used to hold a Christmas Festival on the weekends during the closed season, where a small area of the park was available to the public. During the Christmas Festival there was all sorts of entertainment available, such as carol singers, a daily parade and a special Winter ice show.

Here we have some pictures from the first Christmas Festival in 1988. The parade featured a variety of floats, including a horse drawn carriage. As well as leading the parade, Henry Hound also featured on one of the floats, with Henrietta Hound also appearing atop a very special Christmas cake float. Old Towers Street is also pictured, complete with a Christmas Tree and a multitude of guests
