Guests enter the queue line, which is a living and working garden comprising of a range of different plants and flowers. As you move through the queue you can admire the plethora of plants from runner beans to lavender, all of which are maintained throughout the season and any guests making multiple visits can observe how these grow and develop. As you approach the front of the queue, you are batched into groups and welcomed to the allotments by Mr Bloom’s neighbour, Mr Blossom. You are led through a gate, into a fenced off area where Mr Blossom has a general chat with the group, including the ‘Tiddlers’, whilst you wait to enter the main part of the attraction.

When ready, you are taken through the door into Mr. Bloom’s allotment itself. Another of his neighbours explains that Mr Bloom is on holiday and he’s asked you to help keep an eye on everything, you even get a phone call from Mr. Bloom himself who is just checking in to make sure you know how to feed Compo if he gets hungry! When the phone call is finished Compo (a large composting machine) makes a grumbling sound indicating that he’s hungry. It’s up to the Tiddlers to help find items to feed him, learning about recycling and sustainability at the same time.

Once Compo is fed and happy you head into Mr Bloom’s shed to meet the vegetables. The vegetables have been enjoying all the rides in CBeebies Land. However, the Wee McGregors are too small to get on any of the rides! It’s up to you to first of all help find the Wee McGregors, who are hiding around the shed. Then, with Compo’s help, make them a ride of their own to enjoy so they don’t miss out on any of the fun. Once you’re done Mr Bloom calls to check how everyone is getting on and that everyone has been having a good time. After that, all that remains is to put the vegetables to bed before it’s time to leave the allotments.

Located towards the back of CBeebies Land, next to the Tree Fu Tom Training Camp, Mr Bloom’s Allotment is the first fixed attraction to be located in this area. Previously, this area was home to some of the paddocks of Old MacDonald’s Farmyard and housed animals including chickens, guinea pigs and rabbits when they weren’t part of Furry Friends in the middle of the farmyard. When first introduced to the resort in 2007, these were the first animals to call the resort home since the foot and mouth crisis of 2002 which saw the resort make the controversial decision to cull their animals to avoid restrictions being placed upon the park.

The area closed towards the end of the 2013 season to make way for the new family development, CBeebies Land. Sadly the animals were not to have a place in this new area meaning they were to be moved to a range of new homes over the course of the closed season.

When Old Macdonald’s Farmyard and Storybook Land were rethemed into CBeebies Land for May 2014, we documented its construction, including an aerial update from MI7!
