March 2001

SW5LIVE.COM is happy to reveal our first set of SW5 construction pictures, taken during the Oblivion weekend on Sunday 17th March.

Just click on your desired photograph and the larger version of it will open in another window.

The first picture clearly shows the hole from which the train will start its incline and how it will cross the Monorail and Nemesis, notice the steep slope of the hole.

Picture 2 shows the hole from the other side of the site, from where the Beast queue used to go. This hole will he the first part of the hill and will probably be filled back over once built.

Speculation is still occurring to whether the ride goes over or over the monorail, both will be a challenge due to clearance space for the trains.

Picture 3 shows the first corner the cars will turn before the lift hill, the large flat space towards the back of the picture is where the station will be situated.
Picture 4 again shows the flat area where the station will be situated and the first underground turn made by the track.
