Alton Towers provided guests with a range of festive packages during the 2006/07 winter period, allowing them to experience the hotels’ facilities and even meet Santa in his grotto.

Guests could stay in either the Caribbean themed Splash Landings Hotel – always a favourite in the middle of the British winter – or, for a cosier atmosphere, the traditional Alton Towers Hotel. They could also visit the Alton Towers Waterpark, watch a family film in the cinema and dance in the children’s disco. There were also some more festive activities with Santa’s Grotto and the opportunity to hand-feed real reindeer. During the period the Towers Ruins and Woodland Walk were also open for guests to have a stroll. In addition to all of this, there were also dodgems and a Cirque Noel Christmas show.

Each Sunday in the run-up to Christmas Day, guests could spend an entire day at the resort to join in with the festive fun and have Sunday lunch with all the trimmings! On the last day of 2006 guests could stay at either hotel and splash out for the day in the waterpark, ride the dodgems or walk in the woodlands before heading back to the hotels in the evening to celebrate as a family in the three party zones. Guests were also invited to dress up 70’s style for a themed disco and live band as the New Year rung in.
