As reported by TowersTimes on 2nd December, the Shrek project for 2011 has been cancelled. As part of the developments, it was widely believed that The Beastie, which has been at the park since 1983, would be shelved in favour of the more modern family attraction – Shrek 4D.

However, with the Shrek project now in tatters, and the park looking elsewhere for 2011 developments, it appears that the ancient Pinfari Super Dragon – which was once a common sight at amusement parks across the UK, has been given a reprieve and shall continue to operate into 2011 – what will be its 29th season. Beastie shall remain the only non-customized rollercoaster at the park in its Adventureland home, adjacent to Sonic Spinball.
