Following on from the news story on Alton Towers Almanac earlier, TowersTimes now believes that the 2010 rollercoaster project will be manufactured by Intamin.

Intamin were responsible for 2005 success Rita – Queen of Speed, and have also brought the classic Congo River Rapids to the park. It marks a departure for the park, after Nemesis, Oblivion and Air were all made by Bolliger & Mabillard.

Other Intamin rollercoasters in the UK include Stealth and Colossus, both at Thorpe Park in Surrey. The SW6 rollercoaster is touted as an Intamin Mega-Lite model, which is effectively their mini-hyper coaster. Rollercoasters such as Piraten in Denmark feature bunny hops, twists and turns and steep drops – which all feature in the plans for 2010. What the world-first/dark ride section will include however remains highly secret.

More news as we get it.
