Britain’s no.1 Theme Park Alton Towers is once again thrown back into silence after thousands of gusts attended their successful February Half Term Hullabaloo event which saw some of the parks premier attractions open for the school holidays. Today sees the end of the event, and the start of the short countdown to the start of the 2008 season on March 15th.

March 15th will see a brand new Pirate themed area, Mutiny Bay open. In it will see 2 brand new attractions come to the park, the first, Battle Galleons, a Mack Splash Battle ride which will see gusts board pirate boats with an aim to enter a water themed battle. The second of the brand new attractions will be Heave Ho, a Zamperla Rockin’ Tug ride aimed for the younger visitors of Alton Towers. The well-loved Tea Cups will be having a Pirate makeover too, and will re-open as Marauders’ Mayhem on March 15th.

Moving on from Mutiny Bay and to the parks food outlets. McDonald’s has now left the park, and the 2007/2008 closed season has seen Burger King move into the park replacing the 3 McDonald’s outlets around the park. For the parks own food outlets, a new healthier range of meals and snacks will be introduced for those not so keen on the majority of the food served around the park.
