2004 is set to be a fantastic season for Alton Towers, with a brand new spinning roller coaster, and the re-theming of the Log Flume in a way never seen at a theme park before!

The opening dates for the 2004 season are: 27th March – 31st October 2004

Spinball Whizzer
Have you ever wondered what it might be like to be a human pinball?? Imagine a rollercoaster ride where you are not only hurtling full pelt along steep, twisting tracks, but the car you are travelling in is also spinning like a top, doing 360’s like a demented whirligig! Welcome to Alton Towers’ latest coaster – Spinball Whizzer, a unique ride experience, where the riders are the kings of spin!

To put riders in the pinball mindset, the ride is themed like a giant pinball machine. Riders rattle like a ball as they are catapulted down the 450m track at speeds of up to 60km per hour. Over the 1 minute 30 second duration of the ride, each car can spin up to 90 times! Spin may be dead in politics, but long live spin at Alton Towers!

Full of surprises, and located in Adventure Land, Spinball Whizzer is a mad ride that all the family can enjoy together. (A height restriction of 1.2 metres applies.)

The Flume Unplugged – Refreshed by Cussons’ Imperial Leather
A perennial favourite at the park, the Log Flume will emerge fresh and frothy in 2004 with a complete makeover. Out go the rustic log boats and in come funky bath tubs to reinforce the theme “bathtime with attitude!” Rubber ducks, taps, bath plugs and of course showers feature heavily in the theming around the ride’s water trough, and if the final drop doesn’t get you wet enough, there’s an intermittent power shower that just might give you a thorough soaking!

Hotel Spa-tacular
If Caribbean mayhem is the watchword in the newly opened Splash Landings Hotel, then the new Spa will provide a much-needed panacea for theme park weary parents! Consisting of traditional spa treatments and a range of thermal experiences, guests staying at both hotels will have access to the Spa, which will only be open to adults.

Both the Alton Towers Hotel, Splash Landings Hotel and Cariba Creek waterpark will continue to keep that summer feeling alive, by opening throughout the winter months. Choose either the Alton Towers Hotel for eccentric adventuring or Splash Landings for Caribbean cool. Either way, you’ll have gallons of fun in the integrated Cariba Creek waterpark, and both hotels are offering special seasonal and winter packages.
