For all ticket queries and for booking we recommend checking out the official Alton Towers Resort website.

The space themed spectacular runs will celebrate the launch of Galactica, the world’s first rollercoaster fully dedicated to virtual reality transporting people to another dimension.

The show will take guests on an intergalactic adventure on the world’s first space ship designed for thousands of people. Explore new worlds on the maiden voyage of the ship with an interstellar display featuring an astonishing amount of fireworks, striking special effects and incredible lasers that will light up the universe’s sky.

With the famous Towers as the backdrop the fireworks spectacular is set to be the Resort’s biggest and best fireworks display ever. Presenting space themed music, the fireworks spectacular lasts for over 20 minutes and is guaranteed to take your breath away!

TowersTimes Top Tips

Queuing

Please be aware that Fireworks is likely to be very busy and queues will be large for many of the rides and attractions.

It is always advisable to ride the most popular rides (such as Galactica and The Smiler) at the very start and end of the day. Remember that some rides will close in preparation for the fireworks display, however it can be a good opportunity to beat the queues when they reopen.

Single Rider Queues are available on The Smiler, TH13TEEN, Oblivion and Spinball Whizzer. These allow single riders to fill empty spaces on rides, often meaning a quicker wait time than the main queue. Please be aware that Single Rider Queues move much slower than normal queues and, when busy, could lead to a longer wait time.

Other methods and tips to avoid large queues are available on the TowersTimes website.

Handy Hints

  • Temperatures will drop as the park gets dark so remember to wrap up warm!
  • Stick around after the Fireworks display to avoid the main rush of traffic and enjoy the Resort’s rides in the dark.
  • Spinball Whizzer is generally much quieter in the afternoon and evening as many guests rush to ride it first in the morning.
  • Make sure to ride Oblivion to get a a great view of X Sector and The Smiler at night!
  • Riding TH13TEEN at night brings a whole new meaning to the Dark Forest, with there being next to no lighting around the ride’s circuit.
  • Buy your parking token from a machine or ticket booth at the start of the day to beat the queues when leaving the park.
  • Leave the theme park via the Galactica Gates to avoid the queues for the Monorail.
