OCTOBER 28TH 2004 : FIREWORKS 2004 PRESS RELEASE
This year's firework display at Alton Towers is all about the use of music to convey time travel. Viewers go on a magical journey through time, aided by some modern classics such as "Wild Boys" by Duran Duran and "Relax" by Franky Goes to Hollywood. OCTOBER 26TH 2004 : BLACK HOLE TO GO
Our sources suggest that in the next season, the Black Hole could be removed from the park. Although not yet confirmed, many people will be sad to see this ageing, but thrilling ride depart from the park. 2004 will be the last season for the ride, however, it is expected that it will be open for the "winter weekends". Check back regularly for more updates on this story.

OCTOBER 17TH 2004 : COURT CASE UPDATE
Since the last update, the Ropers have continued to campaign for more noise reductions at Alton Towers. Specifically, the Firework and Laser spectacular. However, a judge has ruled that stopping the event would cause significant losses in profit for local businesses and the Tussauds group itself.
OCTOBER 13TH 2004 : NEW RIDE FOR UG-LAND!
The new ride for Ug Land has been confirmed and named. 2005 will welcome RITA to Alton Towers - a state of the art Intamin launched coaster set to be the first of it's kind in Europe. We've just added even more new photos to the construction gallery!
AUGUST 8TH 2004 : NEW RIDE BREAKING NEWS
We have just heard breaking news of a new attraction at Alton Towers! The ride will be a UK-first, launching its riders to speeds of over 60 mph! The ride will be in the
vicinity of Ug Land and it looks like it's going to be amazing! Contractors are currently finalising the plans for the ride and construction will begin soon.
You'll be the first to know any more information as soon as we get it!
AUGUST 4TH 2004 : COURT CASE UPDATE
Alton Towers have lost their battle against Stephen and Suzanne Roper in the courts! The judge found that one of the worst offending rides was Oblivion, that causes people to scream as it hangs them over the edge of its drop. Alton Towers are now in discussion as to what measures must be taken to limit noise being
emitted from the park.
JULY 16TH 2004 : AT IN THE COURTS
Alton Towers owners, Tussauds, are being taken to court over noise pollution. The couple, Stephen and Suzanne Roper are complaining that noise levels being
emitted from the park is breaking the "1990 Environmental Protection Act". If the couple win, who knows what could happen - will the offending rollercoasters be removed?
SUMMER 2004 : NEW RIDE PLANS
TowersTimes are beginning to see what looks to be planning applications for the next year in the park. We've set up a special page to show you some of the exciting things that might be coming to Alton in 2005.
MARCH 27TH 2004 : ALTON REOPENS FOR THE 2004 SEASON
Alton Towers have now reopened for the 2004 season, the park boasts a new spinning rollercoaster for this season called Spinball Whizzer. The log flume has been re-themed and a new ice show can be found in Story Book Land.
2004 has also seen the removal of ‘The Swan Boats”, “Dynamo”, "Vintage Cars" and “Boneshaker”.
