The Octopus opened in Aqualand in
1984. Rather like a fairground attraction, the Octopus was a marvellous spin and spew ride.
gondolas on the end of legs were spun on a wavy course. Passengers became very sick after this ride and sometimes it hurt people, because of forces which pushed your riding partner into you.
In 1992 it was
moved to Talbot Street to make way for the entrance to Katanga
Canyon, but it was removed the following year when Talbot Street
become the Land of Make Believe
