The Magic
carpet opened in 1984 in Festival Park. It was basically a smaller
version of 1001 Nights, but with 4 arms with weights on the end,
instead of one large arm. It gave excellent negative G-forces as it
went over the top.
The ride was
removed in 1986 after just two seasons at the park; it is not known
why it was removed, but it was likely to be due to the more popular
1001 Nights which opened in 1985.
