Originally this area was known as the
Talbot Centre, and it had a wide range of rides, including the
Corkscrew Rollercoaster, an Adventure Playground, Wildlife Museum
and the Rupert Bear Magic Show.
In 1984 the area became known as
Festival Park and was greatly expanded with the addition of the
Enterprise, Wave Swinger and Magic Carpet. Over the following years a host of
rides came and went from the area, including the 1001 Nights,
Tri-Star, Spider, Junior Flyer and Energizer.
By the late 90s Festival Park
consisted of the Corkscrew, Junior Flyer, Wave Swinger and
AstroDancer; and it was with this line up of ride that it was
transformed into the prehistoric playground that is Ug Land.
