The Cuddly Bears were the original Alton Towers mascots, having arrived in 1985.They could often be found entertaining guests up in Talbot Street, although in later years they also frequented Towers Street as well.

In 1992, the bears regained their modesty and were clothed for the first time, but this was to be their last season in the park before they went into retirement.
