One
of the first major rides to be constructed at Alton Towers, the
Log Flume was built over the winter of 1980/1981. Its 886m course
winds its way through the woodland neighbouring the gardens, and
was quite a major undertaking for the park, it being the longest
Log Flume in the world at the time.
After
22 years in operation the flume received a major face lift, turning
it into the Flume: Unplugged. To see images of the ride during
it face lift please click
