Closed Season Archive 2005/2006

2005/2006 was the closed season which saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory arrive at the park. The Tweenies departed during this closed season, and Caffe Express and the Mexican Cantina were built.

November 1st 2005

We start this closed season in Katanga Canyon, with an unusual view of the Mine Train	Looking down towards the tunnel which the rapids and Mine Train pass through.

Merrie England, looking more akin to a ghost town then an amusement park	Lots of Squirrel Nutties queuing up in front of Spinball, waiting to be removed from their track.

Over by the lake work is progressing tidying up after the fireworks spectacular, which finished the following night.	X- Sector, still open to the public, as part of Adrenaline Week.

The Re-Hydrator: done hydrating guests for the 2005 season.	Over in Ug Land the Ug Swinger has had it's chair removed in preparation for its Winter inspection.

The chairs are piled in a multicoloured stack by the operators cabin.	Much like Merrie England, Cred Street has become a ghost town since the park's closure.

The Frog Hopper, collapsed into it's Winter Storage position.	As guests exit the park they pass the Monorail which has it's shutters down for the holidays.

The Towers stand proud in their misty surroundings.

We shall start this update with a few views from inside the towers which are not usually accessible.








Sorry folks. X Sector is closed today.	Enterprise is undergoing some extensive work.

Another view of the work being carried out on Enterprise.	All the gondolas have been removed.

The seating is in a sorry state.	Gondolas are lying around the empty X Sector.

More Enterprise Gondolas.	Oblivion Station is being given a few touch ups ready for the new season.

A quick glance at Duel and Gloomy Wood. All closed until March.	Skyride station. Minus the Skyride Gondolas.

To start off this closed season update we have the Bouncing Bugs in Cred Street.	InCREDible ices totally stripped of anything cred.

Tweenies signage hastily removed from the buildings.	No more Tweenies.

Playground building looking rather tatty and also missing it's Tweenie logo.	Cred Street McDonalds. Perhaps the only building that will remain the same for 2006.

Closed retail outlets.	Rita is still having work done to the area outside it's queue line.
