Both the Tweenies and Ribena Berry Bish Bash arrived at the park over the 2002/03 closed season, and the construction of Splash Landings Hotel, the resort’s second hotel, continued.

The main activity over this closed season was the construction of Splash Landings Hotel and Cariba Creek – although a few images are included below, check out the full construction gallery in our construction archive. Over at the theme park, the Swan boats could be found sitting on the coach park like every closed season while the iconic frogs were missing from their usual location on Towers Street whilst the fountains underwent their winter maintenance. In X-Sector, the Oblivion queue line building had some work done to it. Construction works were also taking place on the old Ug Land sweet shop, along with touch-ups throughout the area. Ug Swinger was dismantled and Corkscrew’s cars could be found sitting outside Ug Land. Barney’s Playground and The Cred Street Theatre were repainted in preparation for the arrival of The Tweenies. Similarly the farm was revamped ready for the arrival of those mischievous berries.
