Cold weather potentially affecting Feb Half Term

As temperatures have dropped below freezing in recent days, Alton Towers have announced the following on their website:

Regrettably owing to the extremely low temperatures experienced recently the following rides may be unavailable tomorrow (Saturday 11th):

• Air
• Nemesis
• Oblivion
• Runaway Mine Train
• Sonic Spinball
• Squirrel Nutty

We will of course do our very best to get these rides safely operational as early as possible. We will update this page should we have further information.

Obviously, Alton Towers have no control over the weather (Although they did try a few years ago!) so the above rides may be affected during the day if forecasts are correct. Forecast for tomorrow:

Feb 2012 weather

Preparations have been difficult over the last few days, as staff prepare for the first day of the event as snow, ice and below 0 degrees weather hits the UK, with the Staffordshire area being one of those which has been affected.

However, there will still be many attractions available during the February Half Term event which starts tomorrow.
