2006 Season What’s New
Escape to the extraordinary world of Alton Towers, and share a year round resort of full-on, time-out experiences. Prepare yourself for the unexpected, where fun combines with world class theme park thrills, unique hotel environments and essential spa luxury.

It’s a world where everybody is welcome – a world where you can rub shoulders with elves; visit Willy Wonka in his fantabulous Chocolate Factory; lie back and luxuriate in a chocolate bodywrap; scream your way to oblivion; splash yourself silly or take a walk in the woodlands – all in the name of unadulterated fun.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Opening on 1st April, this is the only place in the world where everyone can experience Charlie’s amazing journey into Willy Wonka’s fantabulous Chocolate Factory. Travel with Charlie by boat, on foot and by Great Glass Elevator! Marvel at the scrumptious river of chocolate, smell the delicious candy, enjoy the fantastical landscape… Charlie’s adventure ends with a jaw-dropping journey in the Great Glass Elevator – a world first, multi-sensory ride, which uses revolutionary film technology to take guests on a virtual 3-D tour through the heart of the Factory and up into candy floss clouds and beyond! This amazing finale will have everyone screaming for more, as the Elevator tilts forwards, backwards and sidewards eventually exploding through the factory roof, all the time offering a 360 degree panorama of extraordinary sights! Yippeee!

Electrifying Thrills
On Park, a thousand thrills await. The Park is the home of the rollercoaster and there is an awesome choice! Speed freaks can satisfy their need for speed on Rita – Queen of Speed, voted Alton’s top ride by visitors; free spirits may be inclined to go for the windswept exhilaration of Air, while the real adrenaline junkies opt for Oblivion’s death defying plunge! Then of course there’s Nemesis, still sucking the unwary into a turbulent, twisting frenzy of a ride, only to spit them out dazed and confused, but wanting more minutes later!

Thrills are of the aquatic variety at the Splash Landings Hotel, where the balmy, tropical warmth in Cariba Creek Waterpark houses the great masterblaster wet rollercoaster. Slide and ride to your hearts content with friends and family and rub shoulders with a few other wacky characters – Alton Towers’ quirky nature is a natural draw for singing Santas, personal elf’s, gnome lovers, chocoholics……….

Time to Chill
Enjoy a hotel stay like no other at either the Alton Towers Hotel or Splash Landings. From fabulous flying machines to wacky water features, where cocktails at the bar transfer to beauty cocktails in the spa; where an informal, relaxing ambience encourages everyone to let their hair down and have a laugh; where a shared experience becomes a great memory. New menus, new themed suites, new entertainment, new privileges…
